As I left for appointments today James and Nickolas were eagerly gathering as many water jugs as they could find.  When I arrived home again, they proudly displayed their creations and were chomping at the bit to test them out.

And while their crafts turned out to be less than seaworthy, their enthusiasm was not dampened. And they immediately returned to the drawing board.  Which means I will be out there watching again in a bit....

So now we are back.  Not new ballast, but new means by which to attach the ballast to the craft.  Originally they used tape. Well, we ALL know what happens when normal tapes come in contact with water.  The result isn't always pretty.  So the boys put their heads together and used seran wrap instead.  While this was a better solution, they still needed to use a heated hair dryer to "melt" the plastic to itself.
