WOW! Lots of Stuff Done, But...

Big Snow, Christmas 2010
...Didn't move much.  I spent a great deal of time moving the kids writing blog to a new home and getting three other blogs set up.  The three new blogs are for science, art, and our adventure in home schooling.  The reason for the blogs is so that I can print, at the end of year, a sort of school year book.

The boys are always wanting to do science experiments so I decided to let them be in charge of them.  And to keep them going they are posting the experiment and results as they get them.

The art will also begin this week starting tomorrow.

House work isn't getting done as I get the other things organized though, LOL!

Something I should have posted a while back is about James' scouting ski trip. He came back in one piece and had a blast!  He smelled like snow too, LOL!

Ashleigh has been dating Huxley for one whole year as of yesterday--long distance for most of it.  And the anniversary of their first date is the 14th of February.  She was excited.

A huge dust storm moved over us today and with it is supposed to bring cold weather again. We just got warmed up over the weekend from one of the worst cold snaps El Paso has dealt with in a while.  And they didn't deal well.  Rolling blackouts swept over the city starting Thursday of last week and continued through Saturday.  People have had to boil water since major water breaks happened.  This new snap isn't supposed to be as bad.  We will see.

A side note, I love home schooling.  Ashleigh has been a success.  But that is not to say we were perfect.  For example, she didn't get her second language nor is she particularly schooled in math.  But those are rectifiable.  And her college record speaks for itself: 4.0, dean's list, internship offers, special class offers, and sought after by sororities and fraternities.  I am grateful to God for guiding us in our homeschooling efforts.  And this is especially joyful, too, because John's dyslexia didn't stand in his way for reading and comprehending, because God showed us the way.  Now John is working on writing a book.  I will have to help him but it will be his none-the-less.
