John's Future

Tonight John, Chappy, and I visited the Police Explorers, an arm of the Boy Scouts of America.  And we are ALL excited.  John will fit in with his peers and he will learn sooooo much: leadership, self comportment, initialtive, and various and sundry policing skills.  The Explorers are called upon for so many different tasks, like security at local events, security for police funerals, under age undercover, ride a longs, crime scene security, etc.  They also have academies and competitions in SWAT and routine stops, etc. The particular explorers in our area is very, very proactive.  Many of the police officers in our police agency started life as Police Explorers.  The Police Explorers Post has been at this agency for 40 years, before they were even under the umbrella of BSA. We are all so very excited for John. On a quick side note, the puppy got himself into a pickle today.  I was in another room while he was outside and I could here him knocking on the back door.  I thought he merely had a stick and was chewing it, forcing it knock on the door.  So I ignored him. For an hour.  John went to let him finally and couldn'[t stop laughing. I of course had to get a pic.
